1) Are they specialized in live-in care They are not just an hourly service.

2) Are they regulated and supervised by the CQC This is an important step. They regulate the quality of care and protect you.

3) Avoid using an agency that only provides carers but does not employ them. While self-employed carers are great, it can also be very risky and you don’t have the security of continuous care.

Ask the agency about the support available for carers. What arrangements are made if the carer becomes ill or is unable to work.

6) Does the company have a 24 hour helpline? Is one of their team always available to answer questions? It must go beyond a simple messaging service.

7) Can they give general advice on how to access care/funding/primary care support?

8) Do you have the right to choose whether or not your caregiver is vaccinated.
