Blogging Goals for July and August

Blogging Goals for July and AugustAs I have been thinking about how to improve my blog, I am going to try to set my self some blogging goals for each month.  I would really like to learn more about the different aspects of blogging and I think that focussing on a few goals each month will help me a lot.

Blogging Goals for July/August

Goal 1: To continue to take part in the 30 Day Blogging Challenge.

I am now on Day 6 of the 30 Day Blogging Challenge #30DBBC.  It is helping me to focus on different aspect of my blogging style and is pushing me to blog more.  Lately, I have been writing less and reading a wider variety of blogs.  Blogging is a balance of reading, writing and sharing blog posts.  I think it is now time to work harder on publishing more blog posts.

Goal 2: To join in with more linkies.

I aim to join in with #WordlessWednesday, #MySundayPhoto, #ThePrompt, #TheList, #MyFavouritePost and #WotW linkies each week, at least.

Goal 3: To plan ahead.

I am going to use a blogging calendar on an Excel spreadsheet to think more about which posts I am going to publish each week so that I can get into a better routine with them.

Goal 4: To use Pinterest more to help with my blogging.

I am just starting to think more about how to use Pinterest, with regards to blogging.  I am going to join some collaborative blogging Pinterest boards to help to share my posts and to find more posts to read from other bloggers. I am going to time myself, using the stopwatch or alarm on my mobile phone though.  Spending six or so hours on Pinterest per day will not be a productive use of my time.

Goal 5: To improve the quality of my photos.

I am very lucky as my Dad has let me borrow his Cannon camera.  I call it the big camera.  I am hoping to learn more about how to use one of these ‘proper’ cameras.  I think all cameras are great but it would be wonderful to know more about the effect of different settings for shutter speed, aperture and ISO.  I would love to be able to take better photographs.  I was quite pleased with the photo I took for my #MySundayPhoto this week.

I really hope that I am able to keep to these blogging goals.  I think that it will be a challenge with both my children at home all summer but we shall see what happens. What are your blogging goals for July and August?

  • Wow, how organised are you! I wish I could be so organised with blogging! lol!

  • Rachel Cooper

This is really good. I want to improve my photos as well, and have treated myself to a new camera to practise with. Good luck with your goals! x

  • This strikes a chord with me at the moment as I try to get my blog going. My brain is befuddled with trying to write posts with good content, then try and get my head around Facebook and Twitter, at the same time as working 24/6 with a new born baby (I am a maternity nurse). I try to set goals just as you are doing but things keep cropping up that derail me such as my wordpress failing to update, or learning how to use my theme updates, learning how to do linkies, and then getting carried away reading and commenting on other peoples blogs ! I really need to schedule things better and prioritise. I hope you manage to keep to your blogging goals 🙂 x
