#BlogOnMOSI 2014

Last Sunday, I went to my first ever blogging event; #BlogOnMOSI at Manchester’s Museum of Science and Industry.  I had a fantastic time and learned a lot of new things about blogging.  Even though I was quite nervous about going, I was made to feel very welcome by the other bloggers there, the speakers and the brands.  It was great to put faces and names to some of my favourite blogs.

Our day started with a talk from CBias and SlummySingleMummy, followed by a discussion about Creative Copy with Actually Mummy, Northern Mum and A Residence.   The photography workshop came next.  I only had time to listen to CapturebyLucy and HPMcQ but learned some very interesting things about using props and different apps for making my photographs more appealing.  In the Social Media session, I now know much more about using Pinterest as a blogger, thanks to HereComesTheGirls and I am thinking of setting up my own YouTube channel after listening to GeekMummy.  All of these bloggers have really inspired me to think more about how I blog.  As I have never really been told how to take great photographs before, I am very excited about trying out the ideas that were discussed on the day.  I’m hoping that this new found knowledge will help me to improve upon the photos on my blog as well as the photographs on my Pinterest page.  So look out for my future posts!

The brands/PRs at #BlogOnMOSI were all very friendly and I came away with some wonderful samples, as you can see below:

When I got home, we all immediately chose our favourite products!  All in all, it was a fantastic day and an excellent event.  Thank you to Laura of TiredMummyofTwo for organising it all and thanks to MummyofTwo for driving us there (it was great to have a catch up too :-)).

  • I had a great time, it was my first blogging event so I was pretty nervous. So exicted to bring to goody bags home too, they went down well in our house!
