We have been celebrating H’s fourth birthday with a dinosaur party. She is absolutely obsessed with dinosaurs so I’ve been scanning Pinterest for dinosaur party ideas. We feel very lucky to have received a Dino Blast party pack from Party Bags and Supplies too.
When looking for dinosaur party ideas, I must admit I was a little disappointed that the dinosaur theme is generally found in the ‘boys’ category. I understand that it traditionally seen a topic for boys but I don’t necessarily agree that it still should be nowadays. But that is for another blog post.
H had a few friends round to help us to celebrate. We put brown wrapping paper on the wall and cut out dinosaurs from a colouring in book so that the children could use the different shaped wax crayons to colour them in. I’d melted down and moulded hearts and superman emblem shapes for previous parties so we used them here too.
I made some of these dinosaur eggs using baking powder, food colouring and a splash of water for the children to excavate in the dinosaur nests. I found this idea and many others here. The children had the task of finding the dinoculars (made from two polystyrene cups, cellotaped together with some wool to put around their necks) to search for dinosaur masks and then the dinosaur eggs in their nests. We put a large sheet down in the living room for the children to dig small dinosaurs from the eggs, using vinegar (to make it fizz), brushes and play doh tools.
This dairy free and egg free cherry chocolate cake was simple to make and after putting a few dinosaurs around it, H loved it. I usually take ages making birthday cakes but this year, I didn’t have as much time so this cake was ideal. H specifically wanted a chocolate cake so that is what she got.
We were very pleased to have the eight party bags, table cloth, cups, napkins and plates supplied by partybagsandsupplies.com. We were very impressed by the quality of the items we were sent. The table cloth was large, which would have fitted most tables, in my opinion. It was thick and quite durable, with a good colour printed dinosaurs on the edges. The napkins, cups and plates all matched to give a wonderful effect. My daughter was very impressed too.
The Dino Blast party bags contained more than I had imagined. They were all good quality items too. In each bag there was a dinosaur in slime within a plastic egg, a squashy dinosaur, a dinosaur glider, some Haribo sweets, a small toy and we had enough napkins left over to put a piece of cake in the bags too.
We were very impressed with the party bags and table items that we received. I usually spend quite some time sourcing and buying items for party bags and put them together myself. I have found that these bags were cheaper yet still good quality and had a good amount in them for the price. I shall be buying party bags from them in the future. The website has a good range too so many different parties can be catered for.
Disclosure: We received a Dino Blast party pack for the purposes of this review. My opinions are honest and my own. Ideas for the party activities were found on Pinterest.
