After our previous House of Fraser review on good quality, affordable clothing, we were sent a pair of French Connection girls’ shorts to review. This item was in the more expensive range of children’s clothing but was still a good quality item.
H was very excited about modelling her new shorts and decided the best way to test their quality would be to jump about all over the place.
She told me that she was able to move about in them easily and that they felt very comfortable. As H is very tall, we opted for shorts intended for 5-6 year olds, which is in line with the size we usually buy for her. As H is quite slim, the shorts were wide around the waist to start with. On closer inspection, we were pleased to see an adjustable elastic waistband so we tightened them accordingly.
We really liked the colour of the shorts, which we felt were summery and bright. I do have slight reservations about how long they will stay the white colour though. I think that these will need to be kept for special occasions. Although, the pattern on the shorts could lend itself to having some marks that a three year old would make, without it being too noticeable.
These shorts can be worn over leggings or tights or on their own. My daughter decided she wanted them over her purple leggings as she could see purple flecks in the pattern on the shorts. There are also pink and green colours in there, so I think that these shorts are very versatile with regards to what to wear with them.
Overall, we are very pleased with the quality of these French Connection shorts. My daughter is still very excited about wearing them and is enjoying trying them out with a variety of clothes that go with them.
