Nina goes Barking Mad! Book Review

After reviewing Jules and Nina Dine Out by Anita Pouroulis, we were lucky enough to have another Nina and Jules book for this review with Nina Goes Barking Mad!  My children were very excited about this book as they really enjoyed the last one.

This story came in a lovely green box with some other goodies inside.  My children were particularly impressed with the ear plugs to keep the noise of the barking down.  My daughter thought that she might like to wear them when our dog, Floppy barks at the cat outside our window.  My son said that he would like to wear them to watch our favourite football team as the noise of the crows hurts his sensitive ears on match days.

In Nina goes Barking Mad! we follow the adventures of Jules and her dogs Nina and George.  In this story, Nina won’t stop barking, even though she is usually quiet and well behaved.  This drives everybody crazy trying to work out what has upset her.

Here are H’s and S’s favourite pages. H liked the page where Jules described George digging up the garden, “So it looked like a huge dinosaur had trampled there.”  The illustrations in this story are wonderful.

S really enjoyed searching through the whole book to find the 17 little blue birds that had been drawn in for the children to find.

It turns out Nina wasn’t the only one to go barking mad.  I had two barking mad children, sorry, doggies of my own!

Nina Goes Barking Mad! By Anita Pouroulis and illustrated by Agata Krawczyk is recommended for children 5 years and older, even though my 3 year old loved it.  It has a RRP of £6.99 for a paperback version or £1.99 as an i-book.

Disclosure:  We were sent a copy of, ‘Nina goes Barking Mad!” and some other goodies for the purposes of this review.  All opinions are honest and my own.
