Potty Training Live 2014

This week, we received eight packs of Dry Like Me potty training pads, in preparation for following the advice from Potty Training Live 2014.  We received our first email the other day, after signing up for tips on how to make potty training more of a pleasure than a chore.

So far, we have gathered our Dry Like Me pads, lots of knickers, two potties (one for upstairs and one for downstairs/going out with) as well as lots of wipes.  We have been changing all her nappies in the bathroom and practicing washing hands afterwards.  She is doing really well so far but at times, she goes a little crazy with the soap.  I’m not sure half a tub each hand wash is quite where we want to be but we’re practicing at using less!

Over the Summer is the perfect time for my daughter to start her potty training properly, as she is two and a half years old, she is able to listen to and follow instructions and is telling me when she has done a wee and a poo.  She also keeps asking to use the toilet and has successfully, on occasion, done her ‘business’ there.  We have given her lots of praise each time and have tried not to put any pressure on her.  Being negative about it or telling her off for not doing it correctly would be counter-productive, in my opinion.  Jude and Di (creators of the Dry Like Me potty training pads) have mentioned this in their first email to help us to get prepared for potty training.

You can sign up to Potty Training Live! from 14th July 2014 and they will provide you with hints and tips to help you to support your child to become nappy free, over four weeks.  It may be that your child isn’t fully potty trained after the four weeks but this can be used for information and support to help you through the process.

You can find Potty Training Live! on Facebook, TwitterInstagram or on their website for further details.  Come and join in the conversation with #pottytraininglive

We are really looking forward to getting started with our Dry Like Me, Early Days pads.  As the pads fit into her knickers, I think that they will give my daughter that extra bit of confidence when she can’t quite make it to the potty/toilet in time.  We will update you on her progress soon!

Sounds like a great product! It would have been interesting to have these when my son was at the potty training age.

  • They sound like a brilliant idea! Good luck with potty training, I’m sure Holly will fine it easy!

  • What an interesting idea! I have to say I would have loved to have some ongoing support whilst I was potty training.

  • Good luck with potty training – I hope it goes smoothly for you 🙂 x

  • These look like superb resources. I did it a year later than planned as I felt out of my depth x

  • Zena’s Suitcase

We’re trying this too. It’s really hard for us with a newborn in the house too, but I’m sure we’ll get there in the end

  • I bought these but in the end decided not to use any training pants or pads and just go cold turkey, so to speak. We went completely bare bottomed, then with clothes but no knickers and finally with knickers. Sorted in a few days. Definitely stressful at the time but so worth it. Hope it goes well for you however you end up doing it, though. However we get there, we get there in the end. 🙂

  • I hope it all goes well It’s been quite a while since we had to do any potty training and I’m very happy all that is behind us now!

  • My daughter is 2.5 and not interested at all! I’ll keep trying but I don’t want to push her too much.

  • Globalmouse

Good luck…it’s always stressful but great to be able to have some support with it!

  • good luck with it all. hopefully with all this super weather it will be a breeze

  • It sounds like you’re doing well with the potty training already. Hope it continues.
