For our Project 365 Week 5, we have had a mix of cold weather, being outside and relaxing inside.
For Day 25, the children spent the day with their Dad. When they came home, we enjoyed playing Pairs in Pears as well as some other games.
Day 26 was a sleepy evening, after a long day at School and Nursery. S was still feeling unsettled from his weekend so needed lots of cuddles and quiet time. He loved sitting with his sister to watch cartoons on her Hudl, which made him feel a bit better. Of course, Floppy had to have some snuggles too.
On Day 27, both children asked to play on their tablets for a while so they were allowed an hour. S played on a game called, ‘Dragon City,’ and H watched Minnie Mouse. I really love that they enjoy spending so much time together, even if they did spend the hour in silence, staring at different screens. It meant that I could enjoy a hot cup of tea in addition to making chicken and leek pie in peace.
On Day 28, H spent the morning at Nursery. We enjoyed a lovely, fresh lunch together. It is lovely chatting to her about the fun that she has at Nursery. She is making lots of friends now, as she has recently moved groups so she was telling me all about them.
Day 29, we had a dusting of snow that stayed around for most of the day before turning into slush and disappearing. Floppy was very nervous about snow as she had not really seen any before. She spent some time shaking, refusing to go anywhere near it and insisting on hiding behind my legs to avoid it. Suddenly, she decided that she was going to be brave and ran outside, digging the snow up, jumping about in it and wagging her tail. I think we can safely say, she has got over her fear of the snow.
Day 30 was spent walking to the doctors then to the hospital with my sore finger. For some reason, the antibiotics hadn’t done as good a job as I was expecting so I had to go to the hospital for the Nurse to stop the pain. H was very well behaved while I freaked out at what the Nurse had to do. I’m usually quite brave but in this instance, I somehow managed to stress myself out. It was probably not a good idea to Google it before I went…
Once home, I felt much calmer and in less pain (thank you to the Nurse and the painkillers that she gave me). Then it was off to take S and H to the dentist. They sat wonderfully for him and got Frozen and Wreck it Ralph stickers for their good behaviour. S has two wobbly top teeth so I think the Tooth Fairy will be visiting soon.
Day 31 saw us take a trip to the cinema to see Big Hero 6. We loved it! It was great listening to al the giggles from S and H. S says that he would like a copy on DVD for his birthday as he liked it so much. We came back to some imaginative play with detachable robotic arms saving us from danger.
