Capturing the ordinary moments is so important to us. My memory is terrible at times but I really would like to remember as much about the everyday aspects of my children growing up as I possibly can. I know that I will forget some but I want to preserve as many as possible. This is the first time I have linked up with Mummy Daddy and Me Makes Three’s linky, which I think is a wonderful idea.
We have recently been enjoying time outside as the sun has been shining and so we thought that we would make the most of it. My children spent a lot of time in the paddling pool each summer, with splashing and giggling being a constant thing the whole time they are in there. Both children got changed into their swimming things and waited
impatiently as I filled up the pool. Both children took turns to wear the swimming googles while the pool was filling but took them off to get in the water. Due to overuse, our two larger paddling pools were found to have holes in them this year so we used our back up pool instead. Needless to say, I think S has had a bit of a growth spurt over the last year so it was a bit of a squash!
Being as imaginative as they are, S made his own computerised control centre using a cardboard box to have by the side of the pool for emergencies only. Both S and H were also transformed into friendly ninjas via the power of the wrapper that arrived to keep the mango safe for H and a spare elastic band for S.
I love the fun they have together in the paddling pool. Ever year, they have massive amounts of enjoyment just pouring water over each others’ heads using measuring jugs and bowls from the kitchen.
I am planning on getting a bigger pool in the coming weeks so we can have more fun. I used to be able to join them in our old pool so I’m hoping to look for one of a similar size to that. It’s amazing what fantastic memories can be made with two happy children, some water and measuring jugs!
