My Top Ten Blog Posts of 2014

This year, I have had the anniversary of Dillydrops blog and so I thought it would be great to choose ten of my blog posts that I particularly enjoyed writing.

1. My first year of blogging – what I have learned Part One

2. My first year of blogging – what I have learned Part Two

I started writing about what I had learned throughout my first year of blogging.  Once I started writing, I was actually amazed at just how much I had learned in such a short space of time.  I think both the above blog posts are a great place to start if you are thinking of beginning to blog or have been blogging for a little while.

3. Pete the Cat Activities

We were sent a copy of, ‘Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes,’ by Eric Litwin as a thank you from Harper Collins for reviewing, ‘How to Catch a Star,’ by Oliver Jeffers.  The children have made this one of their favourite books this year and we have read this many, many times already.

4. Tips for keeping Primary children engaged

Although I have taken a bit of time out from teaching due to caring for my young family, I really enjoyed writing this post.  I think that many of the points can be transferred and used within the home too.

5. Sweet Mango and Carrot Chicken Recipe

We reviewed some new V8 Juices and came up with this recipe.  Both children have now made it their favourite dish so this will always remind me of 2014.  Plus, I got to sneak fruit and vegetables into it without too much fuss!

6. Making my son’s birthday cake

I bought a new hemisphere cake tin , which I had looked at buying for a long time before I actually did buy it.  I love making birthday cakes for my children and always make one birthday cake for a family party and one for a party with friends.  My son particularly loved his alien cake this year.

7. Easter Colours

After discovering how to easily make an egg shape (see post for my ingenious tip!), my daughter absolutely loved these Easter activities.  They were loads of fun for both of us.

8. Silent Sundays or My Sunday Photos

I love the #SilentSunday and #MySundayPhoto linkies and try to take part whenever I can.  Capturing the special little moments between H and S is a brilliant way of never forgetting them.

9. Co-hosting Binky Linky

This year, I have co-hosted Binky Linky a few times.  This linky is for blogs under a year old.  They also have a Facebook group and are a wonderfully supportive group for new bloggers.

10. Face Painting

This year, my daughter in particular, has been obsessed with having her face painted.  So much so, I used one of their face painting photos as my cover picture on my Facebook Page.

So these are my favourite posts for 2014.  Which posts from Dillydrops did you enjoy the most?  If you are a blogger, which of your own posts did you enjoy the most?  I’d love to have a read!

Thank you all for reading Dillydrops Blog in 2014.  I shall see you again in 2015.

Happy New Year to you all!!
